Mrs Ikwere, the Mathematics Teacher Who Gave Me My Foundation

Recognised by Nkuzify as Distinguished Teacher of the Year.

Mrs Ikwere taught me maths when I was much younger. She is the reason I know maths today.

Who she is

Mrs Ikwere taught me at Ideal Minds Foundation School in Nkpor Agu, and later taught at Regina Pacis School.

She is Mrs Ikwere to me, and always will be. It was my mother who sent me to her, and you can read how in My Mother, My First Teacher.

What she taught me

She gave me the foundation of maths that I still stand on, and now teach from, every day.

A moment I remember

My mother always knew which door to knock on. When I needed a maths teacher, she knocked on Mrs Ikwere's, and I have been grateful for that knock ever since.
