Still making progress in the classroom, I completed Module 3, Slot 5, where I explored how AI can transform an ordinary portrait into a dramatic nighttime automotive scene. The goal was to capture the atmosphere of Tokyo’s underground car culture while combining fashion, architecture, lighting, and cinematic photography.

Prompt I Used:

Create a cinematic, photorealistic nighttime portrait using the uploaded photo as the reference. Preserve the subject’s facial appearance and natural features. Place the subject in a dark urban alley beside a sleek white Japanese sports car inspired by the Toyota Supra MK4. Surround the scene with weathered concrete walls, Japanese-style graffiti, industrial buildings, and distant city lights.

Style the subject in oversized black streetwear with loose black jeans and a textured dark sweater. Use a relaxed, confident pose with natural body language. Illuminate the scene with a strong direct camera flash, producing sharp shadows, bright highlights, deep contrast, and an authentic late-night street-photography appearance. Add subtle film grain and a nostalgic early-2000s disposable-camera aesthetic.

Make the final image feel raw, cinematic, urban, and atmospheric, inspired by Japanese automotive photography and underground street culture.

What I Learned

This activity helped me understand how specific details can completely change the mood of an AI-generated image. Instead of focusing only on the person, I learned to describe the surroundings, clothing, lighting, camera style, and atmosphere.

The exercise also showed me how AI can turn a simple photograph into a visual story. The car, alley, graffiti, flash photography, and streetwear all contribute to the feeling of a late-night Tokyo scene. It demonstrated that effective prompting is not just about telling AI what to create—it is about giving it enough creative direction to communicate a particular time, place, and mood.
