NECO 2026 Results Are Out: JAMB Urges Candidates to Upload on the Portal
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released its 2026 SSCE results, and JAMB has told candidates who have them to upload and verify them without delay. Without a result on your CAPS profile, an institution may not be able to consider you.
What happened
NECO released the 2026 SSCE results on Thursday, September 24, 2026. Over 1.37 million candidates sat the exam. When JAMB announced that CAPS was back on September 28, it also urged candidates with 2026 NECO results to upload and verify them promptly.
Checking your NECO result
The only official place to check is results.neco.gov.ng. Do not share your examination details with anyone who is not official.
Why uploading matters
Some institutions have said that candidates whose O'Level results are not properly showing on CAPS by their own deadline will not be considered for admission. UNILAG said so in August 2026, for example. Check your first-choice school's notice for its date.
How the upload works
- When JAMB opened the 2026 O'Level upload on CAPS, its guidance for "Awaiting Result" candidates was to upload at an accredited CBT centre.
- JAMB has also described a route for uploading from home, with the Board verifying results directly with the exam body, starting with WAEC.
- After uploading, log in to CAPS and confirm the result under the "My O'Level" section.
- If you combine two sittings, such as WAEC and NECO, both results must show.
What is not yet confirmed
We have not confirmed whether NECO results can be uploaded from home in the same way as WAEC. We also found no separate JAMB deadline for NECO uploads, only the instruction to act without delay. Check your JAMB profile for the route that applies to you.
What should you do now?
- Check your NECO result on the official portal.
- Follow JAMB's current instructions to upload and verify it.
- Refresh CAPS and confirm the result is showing correctly.
- Read the admission deadlines so you know how much time your school has.
